XXIX National Conference of Labor Economics

This annual conference focused on labor market reforms, with specific reference to successful practices implemented in Europe. The Great Recession destroyed jobs around the world, and countries are still working to tackle unemployment rates amid slow job growth. While labor markets across European countries are varied, there is evidence that labor market institutions, policies, education and training can help to foster employment.

IZA’sKlaus F. Zimmermanndelivered the keynote lecture entitled "The Economics of Labor Market Reforms", and thematic sessions covered areas as diverse as migration, labor demand, education and health.
