The Summer School gives you an opportunity to learn from leading researchers about the latest advances in labor economics. In addition, the accompanying student presentations and mentoring sessions will provide a great platform for you to showcase your research and get valuable feedback.
The conference will feature keynotes by Ayşegül Şahin and Patrick Kline, as well as about 15 plenary presentations and a poster session. The conference will conclude with a panel discussion on the German labor market featuring leading policymakers and labor economists (Application deadline: March 15, 2023).
The conference covers a broad range of topics related to the economics of artificial intelligence. It will bring together recent contributions in this area of research, including both theoretical and empirical papers. Relevant subjects include, but are not limited to
Like many forms of economic exchange, the process of matching workers to jobs has rapidly migrated online in the last two decades. Thus, understanding how online labor matching mechanisms work; how they affect economic outcomes like employment, wages and inequality; and learning how to take advantages of the ‘big data’ that are generated by online markets all have important implications for the future of labor.
The IZA/FCDO Programme on Gender, Growth and Labour Markets in Low-Income Countries (G²LM|LIC) marks the extension of the successful IZA/DFID cooperation, which started as the Growth and Labour Markets in Low-Income Countries (GLM|LIC) programme in 2011. The extension aims at building a significant new body of evidence on gender, growth, and labour markets to help shape gender and labour market policies in low-income countries. Collaboration with researchers from low-income countries is strongly encouraged.
The 18th IZA & 5th IZA/CREST Conference will be on the topic of Labor Market Policy Evaluation. This conference is an initiative of the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in Bonn in cooperation with CREST. The Program Committee invites submissions for about 12 presentations from academic researchers doing program evaluation research on policy issues related to the labor market. Papers that include innovative approaches or methodological contributions are of particular interest.
The 7th IZA Workshop on the Economics of Education will be helf on October 19 – 20, 2023, in person at IZA Bonn, Germany. The conference will combine invited presentations with an additional poster session aimed at local researchers. Presentations and keynote are available via Zoom for an external audience.
Proposals should be submitted using IZA's online application form. The deadline for submission of complete papers or extended abstracts isJuly 15, 2023. Complete papers are strongly preferred.
Authors of submitted papers or extended abstracts will be notified no later than August 15, 2023, as to whether their paper has been accepted for the workshop. Complete papers will be due on October 15, 2023.

Two types of research grants will be offered:
The call covers 5 wide-ranging research themes:
Theme 1: Facts about gender, education and jobs: leveraging existing data
Theme 2: Fertility and labour markets: participation, migration, occupational choice
Theme 3: Barriers to gender parity: social norms, discrimination, violence
Theme 4: The future of work: energy, environmental changes and cities
Theme 5: Policies and welfare: costs and benefits of interventions for gender parity
We welcome any proposals addressing the above-mentioned themes. In addition, we are particularly interested in proposals focusing on one of the following directions (related to any of the five themes):
Please note that the grant agreement template should be shared with the department responsible for the signature of such agreements at the earliest possible time (in the case of small grants: applicants should familiarize themselves with the grant agreement at the application stage) as the provisions of the standard grant agreement are fixed and non-negotiable. Contracts need to be signed shortly after outcome notification.
