Research

Our empirical research on the future of work focuses on current challenges in the labor market. Education, inequality and wage determination are on our agenda, as are questions of demography, immigration or digitalization. In doing so, we rely on state-of-the-art scientific methodology and benefit from our role as a global network of scholars who contribute their research knowledge to our work. We cooperate with research institutions such as the University of Bonn and operate our own state-of-the-art research data center.

Our Research Team

Our researchers are recruited from leading national and international graduate schools of economics. At our locations in Bonn and Berlin, they conduct research on current topics in labor market research. Our research topics are guided by the goals of scientific and policy relevance.

Our Network

IZA is a globally connected institute. We coordinate the largest international network in labor economics with around 2,000 members. This unique combination of global network and in-house research capacity is the cornerstone of our success. Within our network program areas we organize a variety of international workshops and conferences.

Projects

In addition to our own research initiatives, we also produce research reports for policy institutions and conduct externally funded projects in collaboration with partner institutes.

Awards

The IZA Award for Innovative Research on the Economics of Climate Change honors outstanding publications in the field.
