Teodora Boneva is Professor of Applied Microeconomics at the University of Bonn.

She was previously Assistant Professor at the University of Zurich and Associate Professor at the University of Oxford. She received her PhD in Economics at the University of Cambridge and was a British Academy Post-doctoral Fellow at University College London (UCL).

Her research interests include Applied Microeconomics and Labor Economics, and her research also relates to Behavioral and Experimental Economics. In her current research, she investigates the role of beliefs in educational investment and labor supply decisions and the role of educational interventions in fostering skills in childhood.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in July 2016 and became IZA Research Fellow in November 2021.
