Esther Mirjam is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the University of Technology Sydney. Prior to joining UTS she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Lausanne. She defended her PhD in Economics at the European University Institut in January 2015. She holds a BSc and a MSc in Economics from HEC Lausanne and a MRes in Economics from the European University Institute.

Esther Mirjam’s research focuses on labour economics, development economics and applied econometrics (structural econometrics). She is interested in topics such as migration, education and unemployment, as well as parental leave policies and household labour supply in a dynamic context.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in November 2014.
