Riccardo Rovelli is Alma Mater Honorary Professor, Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna.

He was Professor of Economics in the same Institution, until 2022.

He teaches Economics of the European Union.

His research interests include:
经济和政治l economy of the EU,
Determinants of macroeconomic divergence in the EU,
Monetary and fiscal policy rules and institutions,
Labor market institutions and macro outcomes.

He has published articles in the European Economic Review, European Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Common Market Studies, Journal of Macroeconomics, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, and in the IZA World of Labor.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2004.
