Britta Gehrke is professor for macroeconomics at the University of Rostock. She is further affiliated with the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). Before, she was assistant professor (Juniorprofessorin) for macroeconomics and labor market research at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (conferred in December 2014). She obtained her diploma in economics from the University of Kiel in 2010 focusing on econometrics and statistics.

Her research interests are applied macroeconomics and macroeconometrics with a focus on questions related to the labor market, labor market policies, business cycles, and fiscal and monetary policy.

Britta Gehrke joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in March 2018.
