Shuai Chen is an applied economist having research interests in labor economics, political economy, and behavioral economics. Before completing his PhD in Economics at Tilburg University, Netherlands, Shuai had obtained his Bachelor Degree in Economic Statistics from Xiamen University, China and Master Degree in Mathematical Statistics and Probability from Purdue University, USA.

Following an academic visit to the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at the LSE, Shuai joined the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER). In addition, he is a Fellow of the Global Labor Organization (GLO), and a Research Affiliate of the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) Rotterdam.

Shuai Chen joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in September 2022.
