Sylvie Blasco is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Economics, Université du Maine (GAINS). From 2009 to 2011, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Economics of Aarhus University, Aarhus School of Business. From 2006 to 2009 she was affiliated to CREST as a PhD student. She received her PhD from the Paris School of Economics in November 2009 for her dissertation "The take-up of the unemployment insurance in France".

Her research interests include Labour Economics and Applied Microeconometrics. In particular, she is working on job search behavior and on the individual transitions on the labor market. In her research on the evaluation of labor market policies, she focuses on ex ante effects and mid/long-run effects.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in November 2010 and became a Research Fellow in July 2014.
