João Pereira dos Santos is an Assistant Professor at ISEG – University of Lisbon and a Research Associate at RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economics Research. He is an applied microeconomist with research interests in public, labor, urban economics, and economic history.

He was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Nova SBE and Nova School of Law. In 2021, he obtained his PhD from Nova SBE. Before, he was a visiting student at Harvard University during the spring semester of 2019 and completed the Advanced Studies Program in International Economic Policy Research of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy in 2016.

João joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in September 2022.
