方汉明，美国宾夕法尼亚大学1965届经济学教授。他是劳动与公共经济学、应用微观经济学理论和实证微观经济学方面的专家。他的研究将严谨的建模与仔细的数据分析相结合，并专注于对歧视的经济分析;保险市场，特别是人寿保险和健康保险;医疗保健，包括联邦医疗保险。2008年，方教授获国际卫生经济学协会(iHEA)颁发第17届阿罗奖，以表彰他对医疗保险市场优势选择来源的研究。他曾担任《公共经济学杂志》和《国际经济评论》的联合编辑，并在包括《美国经济评论》在内的众多期刊担任副编辑。方教授是国家经济研究局副研究员，2014年至2016年担任中国经济工作组代理主任。他也是人口研究中心和人口老龄化研究中心的研究助理，以及宾夕法尼亚大学Leonard Davis卫生经济学研究所的高级研究员。方教授还是复旦大学和北京大学的特聘教授，也是中国著名的“千人计划”成员。 He also serves as the scientific director of the Australia–China Population Ageing Hub located at the Center of Excellence in Population Ageing Research at the University of New South Wales in Australia. He is a co-founder and executive committee of VoxChina, a web platform that disseminates research on economic and financial issues related to the Chinese economy.
