Julie Riise is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Bergen, Norway. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Bergen.
Julie has a background from international health and personnel economics, applying discrete choice experiments to study doctors’ behaviour in different contexts. Currently her research is mainly concentrated along two lines: The role of the health care system in labour market participation and educational outcomes, and the effects of public policies on health, human capital, and labour market outcomes. She has a special interest in policies and natural experiments affecting children and adolescents.
Julie Riise joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 2021.
