Hilal Atasoy is an Assistant Professor in the Fox School of Business at Temple University. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
Hilal’s research primarily focuses on the impacts of information technologies on the labor market; more specifically how regional, firm and individual level IT access and use impact employment, wages and demand/supply of technical skills. Another line of research analyzes labor outsourcing and its consequences on firms’ cost structure. She is also interested in the effects of information technologies on health care and entrepreneurship.
She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2013.
