Pedro Luis Silva is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Research in Higher Education Policies (CIPES), and an Invited Assistant Professor at the School of Economics and Management (FEP) at the University of Porto.
He received his Ph.D. in economics in 2021 at the University of Nottingham, UK, with the thesis entitled “Essays on the Economics of Higher Education”. He completed his first degree in economics and his Masters at the Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon.
Pedro’s research focuses on labour economics and applied microeconometrics, particularly education economics. His work has focused on higher education on different dimensions, such as high school grade inflation, college admission, diversification on the university entrance criteria, and student performance.
Pedro Luis Silva joined IZA as a research Affiliate in March 2022.
