Christian Johannes currently leads theOxford Martin Programme on the Future of Developmentat theUniversity of Oxford.
At the University, he is also affiliated withNuffield College,Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE), and theMind & Behaviour Research Group. Before his current role at the Martin School, he was a Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellow in the经济部门.
His research interest lies at the intersection of development, labour, and behavioral economics. Most of his work uses laboratory and field experiments in close cooperation with partner organizations, combined with original data collection. His fieldwork currently focuses on Ethiopia.
He also serves as a consultant on various projects of theWorld Bank’s Social Protection & Jobs Global Practicein Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.
