Julien Pouget (1975) is the Director of ENSAE (Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique) since 2011. He was previously (2008-2011) the Head of the Director General's Office at INSEE (the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies). He is also an Associate Professor in Economics at Ecole Polytechnique.

His main research interests are in empirical labour economics and public economics, focusing on economics of the public sector, economics of crime, economics of discrimination, and evaluation of social programs. He received with D. Fougère and F. Kramarz the Hicks-Tinbergen medal for his paper on youth unemployment and crime published in the Journal of the European Economics Association.

Julien Pouget is a Research Affiliate of CREST (Paris) and since May 2003 of IZA. He became an IZA Research Fellow in December 2011.
